A couple of weeks ago I ”found out” that my phone/device drops calls. The article I read was about a press conference concerning the new iPhone and its antenna troubles. I knew my Blackberry dropped calls but hadn’t really considered it much until I heard about the rate of drops of other devices. Seems to me the comparison and insight into other’s “lives” caused Apple to adjust/lower their expectations. So Apple disclosed everyone else’s drops as if to say, “Everybody else is doing it!”
Didn’t our parents tell us that wasn’t a good excuse? And then our parents followed up with something like, “I expected more from you.” Which left us to sulk off to our rooms feeling about 2 inches tall.
Whether it is let downs in technology or life it seems to come back to the core of our being. We have a problem, but in life there is a solution. The sooner we come to grips with that the quicker we get on with life.
